Securing the states water supply.
The Victorian Desalination Plant is essential for securing the state’s water supply, especially during drought periods. Codus is proud to contribute to this significant project that impacts the entire state. The facility uses advanced reverse osmosis technology to convert seawater into high-quality drinking water.
Key elements includ an 84-km underground pipeline that connects the plant to Berwick and the Cardinia Reservoir. Alongside this, an 87-km underground power supply was designed to optimise land use and minimise disruption. All power needs are offset through renewable energy credits sourced by AquaSure from AGL, demonstrating a strong commitment to sustainability.
Fibre optic cables were also installed to enhance monitoring and efficiency .As building surveyors, Codus ensured compliance with all regulations throughout the project, contributing to a modern facility that will benefit the community for years to come.
