Awarded a 5 Star Green Star - Public Building Design PILOT .

Greater Dandong Civic Centre is an iconic mixed-use building comprising Dandenong Library, a customer service centre, a café located within the building foyer, council chambers, council offices, community meeting rooms, open air civic square, plaza, and events space – “Harmony Square” and external office and retail tenancies.

The building used energy efficient design to minimise energy and water consumption and greenhouse emissions. It uses 67% less electricity and 70% less water than with standard building practices.

Because of its 7-day operations, significant savings in energy and water consumption are achieved in the facility compared to a typical new office development and public building.

The project is state-of-art and bound with stringent requirements of Green Star Rating System. This had led to extraordinary innovative sparks of ideas and legislative compliance challenges.
